Glitter, Glue and Gluttony Episode: All Felt Up
Because who doesn’t like to get all felt up?
Carrie and Cher are live in studio with KTLA Morning News Weekend anchors Wendy Burch and Chris Burrous making Mardi Gras masks and drinking hurricanes.
Adelaide Swizzle
1.5 oz of Old New Orleans Silver Rum (Since I can’t get this in CA I used 10 Cane Rum, you can use any good quality light rum)
.5 oz lime juice
5 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
.75 oz Secret Ingredient (Pssssst, it is Taylor’s Velvet Falernum Liqueur…don’t tell anyone)
.25 oz simple syrup
Club Soda
Lime wedge for garnish
Combine the rum, lime juice, bitters, simple syrup and the Falernum in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a tall glass filled with ice, top with the club soda, garnish with a lime wedge and serve.

I fell in love with the Adelaide Swizzle at the Swizzle Stick Bar at Cafe Adelaide in NOLA

Pucker Up Cupid

Lemon-lime soda

Nothing says love like chocolate covered bacon!!! Here is the easy-peasy recipe that was featured in Glitter, Glue and Gluttony Valentine’s Day Part 2.
What you will need:
1 lb of thick cut bacon (cooked crispy - I bake mine in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes)
16 oz bag of chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, or dark)
chopped nuts (I used pecans but any nut works well)
bacon bits (I used bagged bacon bits but you can make your own)
Cookie sheet
Wax paper
Double boiler

Line a cookie sheet with wax paper. Cut crispy bacon into bite-sized pieces and place on cookie sheet.

Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler.

Dip bacon into chocolate.

Top with a mixture of chopped nuts and bacon bits.

Put on cookie sheet and put in the refrigerator to set up for approximately 10 - 15 minutes.
Share with your Valentine!!! Enjoy!
What is the best way to celebrate Abraham Lincoln’s birthday? BACON!!! And not just any ordinary bacon…bacon wrapped Little Smokies a.k.a Lincoln Logs.

1 lb. Bacon (don’t use thick cut bacon)
1 cup Brown Sugar
Cookie Sheet

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cut strips of bacon into thirds and wrap around the little smokies. Roll the little smokies in brown sugar making sure they are well coated. Place on cookie sheet.

Put the cookie sheet in the oven and cook for approximately 20 minutes.

These are so delicious
Looking for a way to celebrate President’s Day? Having a bunch of people over to reenact the crossing of the Delaware? If so, you need to make Washington’s Drunken Gummy Cherries!!!

What you will need:
Russian Standard Vodka (or any good vodka that doesn’t have a strong flavor)
Haribo Gummy Cherries
A glass dish or container
Plastic wrap

Place the gummy cherries in the glass dish. I used a 9x11 Pyrex baking dish because the cherries can be spread out in a single layer, but you can use any glass bowl, dish, or container.

Add Russian Standard Vodka

Completely cover the cherries and make sure there is an extra inch or two of vodka in the dish. These gummy cherries absorb a great deal of vodka.

Cover with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for 4-5 days. Make sure to stir every 8-12 hours and add more vodka if needed. Remember you cannot use too much vodka because any vodka left in the dish will be delicious gummy cherry flavored vodka.

4-5 days later you will have delicious and boozy gummy cherries.
WORD OF WARNING: These gummy cherries absorb a great deal of alcohol so tread lightly and imbibe slowly.
